You can spread rumors about take-overs all you want. If the guts of the company have problems, the stock is going down. Rogers communications has big problems. They are subscribing new cable/wave customers at 2000 per week, but the infrastructure can't handle the load. Service technicians are at war with maintenance, and both service and maintenance are at war with the phone-line tech support. All three groups are at war with management. Basically the problem is that the system is bursting at the seams, but management says they will only allocate resources for Wave as an "entertainment" package - which means that manpower, and infrastructural resources are under-allocated. The service is slowing everywhere, and technical outages are increasing. Customers are beginning to walk and will soon run to phone lines or satellite. This monolith is crumbling, and shareholders will be the last to know.
