<"Immune Network Ltd - In the News Van Sun says Immune Network in major HIV deal
Immune Network Ltd IMM Shares issued 33,114,792 Nov 22 close $0.29 Thu 23 Nov 2000 In the News The Vancouver Sun reports in its Thursday edition that Immune Network says it has acquired an "exclusive" licence from a "major" Japanese company for a new drug candidate to treat HIV infection. Reporter Rod Nutt notes that the agreement is with Nissin Food Products of Osaka. The antibody, hNMO1, was first discovered and patented by Nissin's research and development team at the Nissin Biotechnology Institute in Boston, Mass. The drug candidate is believed to act by inactivating the HIV virus, which may delay the full development of AIDS in HIV infected individuals. "Immune Network's approach to immune-based therapies for HIV, developing multiple agents with varying mechanisms of action, has great potential for strengthening current approaches to the treatment of HIV infection," says Dr. Brian Conway, a "leading physician" in the field of HIV virology and a member of Immune Network's advisory board. "As such, hNMO1 is an ideal candidate for further evaluation in clinical trials," he says. (c) Copyright 2000 Canjex Publishing Ltd. http://www.stockwatch.com ">
