AFS Announces Resignation of President and Former CEO
CALGARY, July 20 /CNW/ - Alternative Fuel Systems Inc. (TSE:ATF) ("AFS"
or the "Company") regretfully announces the resignation of John C. Anderson,
due to health reasons, effective July 16, 2001. Mr. Anderson was the
President, CEO and a director of AFS from August 1999 until March 2001, from
which time he has been on a leave of absence to deal with his health matter.
Mr. Walter Brooks, Chairman of the Company, will continue in his role as
Interim CEO. AFS' board of directors has initiated a process to permanently
fill the CEO position.
Mr. Anderson was instrumental in capitalizing the Company, building a new
management team, and re-focusing the sales, research and product development
efforts. He played a significant role in designing the Company's new facility
which now houses all of AFS' employees and will provide increased engine
testing, manufacturing and research capabilities. The staff and directors of
AFS acknowledge Mr. Anderson's contributions in continuing the Company's
technological leadership in the engine emissions arena and wish him the best
in dealing with his health matter.
