To All (and Scott, please correct if I've said something incorrect):

When trading resumes, if you wish to avoid gaps in your charts caused by the recent exchange closures there is a solution. The following is from Customer Support - Product Support within esignal.

In order to deal with potential gaps in both interval and daily charts, the following files have been broadcasted. It's important to note, however, that only eSignal 6.1 uses the CALENDARS.TAB file to remove blank days. Also, there is a bug in 6.1 such that it doesn't automatically copy this file from the SIGTEXT subdirectory. So to put it into affect, you will have to manually delete the existing one in the SIGNAL subdirectory, copy in a new one and then rename it.

If you would like the gaps to stay, there is nothing that needs to be changed. Leave your Calendars.tab file as is.

To change your calendars.tab, first delete the file Calendars.tab from C-Program Files-(this may be preseeded by the file "dbc")esignal. Once this has been deleted, copy one of the below two files from C-Program Files-eSignal-Sigtext to C-Program Files-eSignal. Once you have copied over the file, rename it to Calendars.tab.

2) CALENDARS1.TAB - Shows Tuesday's data and excludes 1 day (Wedensday) .

3) CALENDARS2.TAB - Excludes 2 days (Tuesday and Wedensday) . Will be most helpful for those looking at futures (like Live Cattle) that didn't trade either day.

Contracts that traded somewhat on Tuesday were CME Eurodollars and currencies, CBT interest rates, and Comex/Nymex metals.

I would add that there are 2 other files, CALENDARS3.TAB and CALENDARS4.TAB available as well (respectively, they exclude data for 9/11-13 and 9/11-14) - they loaded automatically when I first opened eSignal this evening. Mine were loaded to a subdirectory named SigText (Program Files\eSignal\SigText). As I only track stock data, I did the following and as of Sunday night all looks OK:
1) Close eSignal program;
2) Delete calendar.tab in the eSignal directory;
3) Copy CALENDARS4.TAB to the eSignal directory and rename it CALENDARS.TAB.
4) Restart eSignal program - now the last day for which data is displayed will be 9/10 and tomorrow's trading (assuming we open tomorrow) will pick up like a Mon after a weekend.

Peace and Justice --- Patrick
