Here are some enlightening Direct Quotes.....
from the Y (moderated) Forum ..

Wow,
I didn't think it was possible, but court of appeals forces Intel to respond
to Wi-Lan's petition for Writ of Mandamus!

The court usually only does this in 5% of the cases brought to its attention.

I read it as well. It is a very convincing argument and is extremely well
written.

I read the court rules. Apparently Intel makes their argument then Wi-lan is
permitted to make a counter-argument. The court of appeals must grant a
decision 90 days after the petition is filed. So January 20th at the latest it
is.

If Wi-Lan were to win the decision it would put the ball back in Wi-Lan's court
as all of the maneouvering by the 22 defendants is quashed. Gives the
defendants little leverage in negotiating a low licensing rate.
