At the stock show in Vancouver (Financial Forum) last weekend I stopped by their booth to see what they offered. They said it was the first time they have publicly shown the software they have been developing, without disclosure agreements. I must admit I was very wary of what they may be offering as I had been to their website a month earlier and it looked as if it could be yet another shell company on the VSE (ie. no substance). I subscribe to Stock Watch and although they could use some one to redo their primary web site log on (cosmetics are terrible) their service is sound. For about $50 a month I get market depth on tse/ase. The product SIS has developed looks great (color & cosmetics) and reminded me of the E-Trade product if you have seen what they offer. I'm not that familar with all the different Financial Service providers and went with stock Watch as the Canadian Day Traders seem to support them by default. I believe because no one else does it?
Anyway, the real question here is will people pay for this service
(have level II for nasdaq) if E-trade US offers this service for free. I know Stock Watch is planning to offer this service soon so having Canadian and US realtime market depth combined from one supplier would be worth paying for from my perspective. I would jump at paying another $20 to add to the $50 I am already paying. It would be good to have some veterans share their opinion here.
I asked them to explain their stocks heady price and they suggested local exchange people who have seen what they are doing have bought in.
