Did you also consider how far they fell before the recent bounce? Brooks held up pretty well once we got down to cash / share (ie cash before the Fastech deal).

I do still wonder about ETN, given their interest in flat-panel displays.

BRKS reported tonight an operating loss of 10c after tax (15c pretax) vs avg guesstimate by 3 analysts of 12c loss. Stock closed today at 13.25 which works out to an EPSR of only 0.84 at the bottom of the cycle (stock price less net cash, all divided by sept qtr annualized sales). This compares to current EPSR's of 2.8 and 2.6 for ASYT and PRIA in the same automation sector. Company lost less than PRIA (-20c) and ASYT (-40c oper) in the Sept qtr as well. BRKS is only 65% off its low while ASYT is up 243% and PRIA up 112%. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to suggest that BRKS has a lot of upside from here. At $18.50 for eg (+40% from here), it would still be then trading at a 1.5x EPSR and still significantly lagging its 2 competitors. Go figure
